Luci accecanti e aviopittura in movimento. Non si vedrebbe un cavolo? Perchè si vede qualcosa alle scuderie, a memoria d'uomo? L'unico posto dove davanti ad un olio su tela hai il riflesso del faretto che spara esattamente al centro del tuo campo visivo.Sto male, anche la sortita velocistica al secondo piano ha avuto un epilogo imbarazzante. Mi sollevo incollando il naso al vetro della scala di discesa del secondo piano. Fugace storia d'amore anni '50 tra un quindicenne ed una misteriosa donna matura che, anni dopo, viene rincontrata (dal non più brufoloso ed implume protagonista) sul banco degli imputati di un qualsiasi processo &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"&gt;anti nazista&lt;/span&gt;. La donna accetterà una (ingiusta?) condanna pur di non ammettere il suo &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"&gt;illetteralismo&lt;/span&gt;. Si direbbe un bel film. No. La camera moralizzatrice svolazza pigramente &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3"&gt;qua&lt;/span&gt; e là sulle pieghe sprimacciate della fronte dell'affranto protagonista. La regia infila una dopo l'altra delle incongruenze storiche che, certo non fanno il film, ma irritano non poco il già assonnato spettatore. Due su tutte: la vicenda si svolge in &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"&gt;Germania&lt;/span&gt; con protagonisti &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5"&gt;tedeschi&lt;/span&gt; che brillantemente preferiscono leggere libri scritti in inglese. Oppure: se devi fare una ripresa di &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6"&gt;Manhattan&lt;/span&gt; nel 1994 per farci capire che siamo a New York, evita di scomodare un elicottero per un campo larghissimo che inquadri l'ingombrante non presenza delle &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7"&gt;Twin&lt;/span&gt; &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8"&gt;Towers&lt;/span&gt;. Oscar come migliore attrice alla cara &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9"&gt;Kate&lt;/span&gt;. Probabilmente avranno visto &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10"&gt;Revolutionary&lt;/span&gt; Road ed avranno sbagliato titolo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;The &lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11"&gt;Reader&lt;/span&gt; Il suo estro non aveva confini; suppliva alle mancanze del gergo romanesco con una ironia tagliente, grottesca e sensuale, ed un eloquio semplice, elegante, ma mai banale; sapeva riconoscere la vitalità e quella necessità interna ad un’opera d’arte che ce la rende così familiare al primo sguardo, al primo ascolto, al primo tocco; discorreva con cognizione approfondita di ogni branca della gastronomia, verso cui la madre lo aveva iniziato e coccolato con i suoi preparati gustosi e succulenti, frutto di un genio culinario senza eguali; odiava la matematica perchè ne aveva colto il movimento interno nelle sue più capillari espressioni; era un lettore attento di romanzi, saggi, opere concettuali, trattati e articoli di ogni genere; era uno sbalorditivo erudito del fumetto, campo in cui eccelleva anche alla luce delle sue straordinarie e naturali doti di disegnatore; era un attento ascoltatore di musica e aveva una cultura pressochè sterminata di tutta la sua storia e le sue forme; sapeva suonare qualsiasi strumento o oggetto capace di emettere tonalità, da un basso, a una fisarmonica fino ad un bicchiere, passando per il culo d’una gallina; era un eccellente batterista (passavamo intere domeniche pomeriggio lui alle percussioni e io agli strumenti a corde, a volte pure variando); un affidabile chitarrista; un fantasioso arrangiatore; era un concentrato di saggezza filosofica e di sapienza &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;tout court&lt;/span&gt;. osservatore formidabile a teatro, critico di cinema e conoscitore di tutta la sua parabola storica; sognatore irragiungibile, discreto ma implacabile giocatore di scacchi (fu lui ad iniziarmi alle regole fondamentali e non del &lt;i style=""&gt;Nobil Giuoco&lt;/i&gt;), autodidatta preciso, concreta e tenera espressione di passionalità e di desiderio, dotto consocitore di tutti i vini, delle loro modalità di preparazione e di utilizzo. E tanto, tanto, tanto altro ancora, che non basterebbe una intera enciclopedia per riferire pedissequamente di tutte le sue curiosità, passioni, capacità, conoscenze. una fonte inesauribile. un concentrato di potenza vitale. ramo d’un albero ben più vasto, con le sue capillari specializzazioni in ogni campo, aveva il dono divino di farti scorgere e cogliere il movimento e l’articolazione infinita della Vita nella grandiosa ed umana struttura del suo essere avvolgente e capiente, pieno e solido come un frutto colmo di sapore.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;Era la fine degli anni ’90; mio cugino quella domenica, appena arrivai a casa sua, non perse nemmeno un secondo per informarmi di una sua scoperta musicale importantissima; mi disse che uno dei professori della scuola internazionale di fumetto che allora frequentava, gli aveva dato in prestito un cd d’una formazione inglese dal nome fantasioso: &lt;b style=""&gt;Ozric Tentacles&lt;/b&gt;. Lui l'aveva già ascoltato. Ne era rimasto impressionato, folgorato. Conoscendo la finezza ed il gusto del suo paziente giudizio critico, fui piuttosto colpito nel vederlo così entusiasta al riguardo. Immediatamente (nemmeno avevo tolto il giubotto!) iniziammo ad ascoltare insieme quel cd. Chiuse prima la porta della sua stanza, poi ci sedemmo, silenzio. ed infine la musica infinita. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;Fu l’inizio d’un grande amore: per entrambi.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;Il disco che quel giorno, completamente rapiti, ascoltammo era &lt;b style=""&gt;Erpland&lt;/b&gt; (Snapper Music, 1990).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;Erpland è uno schiaffo a mano aperta, un&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;abbraccio ed un pugno di &lt;i style=""&gt;space psychedelic rock strumentale&lt;/i&gt;, come i critici comunemente definiscono la musica degli Ozric. Più semplicemente, si tratta dell’album di rock psichedelico più entusiasmante degli ultimi 20 anni almeno. Insieme ad un altro, sempre degli Ozric, il cui nome è&lt;b style=""&gt; Arborescence &lt;/b&gt;(Snapper Music, 1994). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;I pezzi, fantastici, suggestivi, sono pieni di quella immediatezza comunicativa unica, di quella capacità che alcune opere umane hanno di esprimere in maniera talmente chiara e lucida, stringente e necessaria, ciò che ognuno si porta dentro, covato a lungo nelle budella, come una pietanza ermetica, un raggio di luce cui non è riuscito, fino a quel momento, di trovare una via d’uscita plausibile dalla camera oscura del cervello.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal"  style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" face="georgia" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;Il lavoro si fa largo nel gorgo dei suoni, facendosi carico di una strumentazione musicale dall’estrazione variegata (dalla quale spicca l’uso massiccio di strumenti etnici e dell’elettronica, accompagnato da clamorose soluzioni tastieristiche). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;E così, dalla ipnotizzante “&lt;i&gt;Eternal Wheel&lt;/i&gt;”, densa di spunti e trovate strumentali fuori dal normale -nel cavo di una struttura ritmica incessante e per niente scontata- passando alla catartica “&lt;i&gt;Sunscape&lt;/i&gt;”, sinfonia bilanciata e complicata di rock psichedelico che dipinge sensazioni pure e ripetute; per poi indugiare su un affresco esotico nato da una felice commistione postmoderna fra psichedelia e suggestioni arabo-orientaleggianti, come in “&lt;i&gt;Mysticum Arabicola&lt;/i&gt;”, o su un fantasioso discorso-rimando-ripetizione, all'incrocio fra psichedelia e world music, elettronica e suoni/toni e colori della savana, come in “&lt;i&gt;Valley of a thousand thoughts&lt;/i&gt;” (ribattezzata dal minotauro “la canzone dei leoncini, perchè li fa apparire magicamente innanzi a te”), quest’album propone un’idea e una dichiarazione di musica complessa nelle sue formule ma terribilmente semplice, onesta, argentina e trasparente nei suoi risultati. Pulizia, nettezza, precisione, barocchismo, ripetizioni e alea, evidenti marchi di fabbrica della nostra epoca, percorrono questo album psichedelico senza possibilità di appello ulteriore, stupefacendo anche l’ascoltatore meno preparato o quello più scettico innanzi a tutta questa musicologia dell’oltranza.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify; font-family: georgia;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; line-height: normal; text-align: justify;"&gt;&lt;span style=";font-family:&amp;quot;;" &gt;&lt;span style="font-family: georgia;font-family:georgia;" &gt;Decisamente consigliato per chi vuole intraprendere la scoperta di questo gruppo, secondo me ancora –e a torto- poco conosciuto in Italia, sebbene la band si sia già esibita dalle nostre parti in passato (il sottoscritto ricorda ancora con fervore mistico le quasi 3 ore di concerto che i nostri gli regalarono qualche anno fa a Roma!). In 13 brani esplora generi diversi, colorati, cosmopoliti, il tutto condito dalla malinconica disillusione di chi ha una mente &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="COLOR: rgb(204,51,204); FONT-STYLE: italic"&gt;funambola&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="COLOR: rgb(204,51,204)"&gt;, e una classe invidiabile nel cantare. Interessante è la partecipazione di Mario Venuti, nel brano "Per causa d'amore".
